Giorgio Armani
The Italian fashion brand Giorgio Armani SpA was founded in Milan on July 24, 1975, by Giorgio Armani and his partner Sergio Galeotti. Armani's style is considered the epitome of timeless elegance, purism, and understated luxury, often referred to as "Quiet Luxury." Giorgio Armani revolutionized fashion by removing the stiffness of the traditional suit, eliminating shoulder pads, and using lighter, more flowing fabrics. His trademark is the use of muted colors, particularly the "greige" (a blend of gray and beige) he coined, to create a subtle aesthetic. Following his partner's death in 1985, Giorgio Armani was the sole owner of the company until his own death in September 2025. Control of the fashion empire now rests with the Giorgio Armani Foundation, established in 2016, which oversees the gradual transfer of responsibilities to the designer's closest confidants. Today, Armani is a global lifestyle empire encompassing not only its main line but also the secondary line Emporio Armani, as well as beauty products, hotels, and restaurants. The brand remains highly relevant and in high demand, having shaped the modern business look and continuing to be a global symbol of class, authority, and Italian elegance.
